Who are we?

In brief, the landowner. Jim Tawney is a retired professor of special education (Penn State University). Having lived and attended college in Colorado in an earlier life, he returned in 1991 when he purchased the Ponderosa Lodge. He has been a proponent of cohousing since first reading about projects created by Wonderland Hill Development in Boulder, Colorado. He intends to live in the cohousing community.

Frank Theis has been selected as the architect and land planner for the project. Frank was, until recently owner of Marys Lake Lodge and was responsible for its restoration. Currently he is assisting to coordinate additional development plans for the lodge, as well as the development of a condominium project to be located to the west of the Cohousing project. During his career, Frank has participated in the historic restoration of homes, the development of a winery on the west coast and a 360 acre private wildlife preserve and residential development in Kansas.
